Allpoint Surcharge-Free ATM Access
  • For a Surcharge-Free/Free of Charge ATM transaction, you need to locate the Allpoint ATMs noted with the "Green Symbol". Allpoint ATMs are located at various popular locations, such as CVS, Walgreens, and Target.
  • You can use your card at any ATM that displays the Mastercard logo.
  • You will need to provide your PIN to process the cash withdrawal.

Card Activation
Prepaid Debit Card ActivationTHIS IS A PREPAID DEBIT CARD

You must activate your Akimbo Card before it can be used for purchases or at ATMs. 

AKIMBO PREPAID DEBIT CARD ACTIVATION:

  • You are able to activate your card by calling 1-855-9-AKIMBO (855-925-4626) and using the automated system or speaking to a representative.
  • You can also activate your card at https://app.akimbocard.com/app/#/activate by simply logging into your online dashboard and clicking the "Activate Card" button. You will need to provide the Full Card Number, as well as some verification during activation.
If you received or collected a physical card, then it must be activated before it can be used for purchases or cash withdrawals.

Setup your PIN

  • You will set your PIN during card activation. For more information about activating your card, please go to https://akimbo.zendesk.com
  • If you need to change or update your PIN, please log in to your account at https://app.akimbocard.com/app/#/nowincentive/login. Then look for the "Change PIN" option in the Account section of the dashboard. You can also call customer service at 1-855-449-2273. 
Changing your PIN

If you happen to forget your PIN, don't worry! You are able to change your PIN by calling 1-855-9-AKIMBO (855-925-4626) and using the automated system or speaking to a representative.
You can also change your PIN by simply logging into your online dashboard and clicking the "Account Profile" text in the upper left-hand corner, followed by the "Change PIN" button on the right-hand "Options" Panel.
Please note that if you enter your PIN incorrectly (3) or more times, it may be locked. This lock is temporary and will reset within 24 hours. You cannot unlock your PIN by resetting it.

If you lock your account and need assistance, please call our corporate office at 1-855-625-4626, and a representative will be happy to assist you.

How do I check my card account balance?

You can check your card account balance in several ways:

  1. Log in to your card account at https://app.akimbocard.com/app/#/login.
  2. Call 1-855-925-4626 and choose option "3" to hear your current balance.
  3. Use an ATM and perform a "Balance Inquiry". (This may be unavailable on some cards.)
Please note: You may incur a transaction fee if you check your balance at an ATM. 

Lost/Stolen Card

If your card is lost or stolen, please contact us immediately at 1-855-9-AKIMBO (1-855-925-4626) and report it missing. At that time, a customer service representative will be able to place a hold on your card so that no unauthorized activity may occur.

  • Akimbo allows one (1) free card replacement within a twelve (12) month time period.
  • Any additional card replacements are $5.00

How do I register my card for online access
You can view your transaction history and current card account balance online. If you do not have login credentials, you will need to register your card first. You can register your card for online access at https://app.akimbocard.com/app/#/nowincentive/register. If you have already registered your card and have online credentials, you can log in to your account at https://app.akimbocard.com/app/#/nowincentive/login.

Help! Why is my card being declined?
First of all, we apologize that a transaction was declined when using your card. That's never fun. Below we've provided a few things you can check and troubleshoot here before emailing or calling customer service:

  • Did you activate your card? All physical cards need to be activated before they can be used. You can activate your card by clicking here or by calling 1-855-449-2273. For more information on card activation, visit this article.

Want to use your card at an ATM?
For a Surcharge-Free/Free of Charge ATM transaction, you need to locate the Allpoint ATMs noted with the "Green Symbol". Your cash is never far away! Allpoint ATMs are located at various popular locations, such as CVS, Walgreens, and Target. You can use your card at any ATM that displays the Mastercard logo. You will need to provide your PIN to process the cash withdrawal. Some ATM cash withdrawals are subject to specific limits. You may also request cash-back at the register at no charge, at merchants that offer that service.

Want to use your card at a gas pump?
If so, you need at least $150 on your card to "pay at the pump" due to a temporary hold placed on the card for the period of time you are at the gas pump fueling your car. Once you finish fueling your vehicle and the final transaction amount is settled, the funds subject to the hold are automatically released.

Alternatively, you can go inside and prepay for your gas! To go inside the gas station to process the transaction is strongly recommended if the balance on your prepaid debit card is less than $150.

Did you enter your PIN when attempting the transaction?
You may have entered an incorrect PIN. You can change your PIN by logging in to your account here. We also recommend trying to bypass PIN entry by selecting "Credit", selecting "No", or pressing "Enter" when the PIN is requested or asking the attendant how you can avoid entering your PIN.

You may have provided incorrect billing information. We recommend that you log in to your account and check the address listed on your account. The address listed on your account is used for billing address verification for online transactions.

Your card may be restricted at certain merchants, merchant categories or locations
The sponsor organization who provided you with and/or loaded your card may have placed restrictions on where the card can be used. You can reach out to your sponsor to find out if there are any such restrictions, or you can contact customer service at cs@akimbocard.com or 1-855-449-2273.

You might have exceeded a daily limit, especially if you received a decline for an ATM withdrawal.

Refunds for Purchases Made with the Card
Any refund for goods or services purchased with the Card Account will be made in the form of a credit to the Card subject to the refund policy of the merchant. You are not entitled to receive a cash refund.

Disputes with Merchants
We are not responsible for the delivery, quality, safety, legality or any other aspect of goods and services that you purchase from others with a Card. All such disputes should be addressed to the merchants from whom the goods and services were purchased.

Reversal of Transactions
Point of sale transactions cannot be reversed. If you authorize a transaction and then fail to make a purchase of that item as planned, the approval may result in a hold of funds equal to the estimated purchase amount, for up to seven (7) days.

Limitations on Card Usage
All transactions are subject to the limitations set forth in this Agreement, and no transaction may exceed the available balance in your Card Account

Purchase Limitations
You may not make purchases that in the aggregate exceed the available balance in your Card Account. If a merchant attempts to process a transaction for more than the value available in your Card Account, then the transaction will be declined. Unusual or multiple purchases may prompt a merchant inquiry or card suspension to allow us to investigate such unusual activity.

PIN:
Is a four-digit code that may be used to make purchase transactions instead of signing for your transaction. Some merchants may require you to make purchases using a PIN rather than your signature. A PIN is set at the time you activate the Card. Only one (1) PIN will be issued per Card. To prevent unauthorized access to the Card Account balance, you agree to keep your PIN confidential. We recommend that you memorize your PIN and do not write it down If you need to reset a forgotten PIN, please call 1-855-925-4626. Your PIN may also be used (i) to obtain cash or to check your balance at any ATM that bears the Cirrus, Maestro, or Accel brands name or logo, or (ii) to obtain cash at merchants that have agreed to provide cash back at POS terminals bearing the Cirrus, Maestro, or Accel brands. You may be charged a fee by us for each cash withdrawal and balance inquiry made at an ATM in the amount disclosed in the section entitled "Schedule of Fees and Charges" set forth below.

Merchant Authorization Holds
When you use your Card to pay for goods or services, certain merchants may ask us to authorize the transaction in advance and may estimate its final value. When we authorize the transaction, we commit to make the requested funds available when the transaction finally settles and may place a temporary hold on the funds in your Card Account in the amount indicated by the merchant (which may be more than the final settled transaction amount). We also may add an amount for certain merchants to ensure that sufficient funds will be available to cover the final transaction. Transactions at certain merchants that authorize high dollar amounts, especially rental car companies and hotels, may cause an "authorization" or "hold" on your available balance for up to thirty (30) days. Until the transaction finally settles or we determine that it is unlikely to be processed, the funds subject to the hold will not be available to you for other purposes. We will only charge your Card Account for the correct amount of the final transaction, and we will release the hold on any excess amount when the transaction finally settles.
